

Monica Haskell
Supervisor of Youth, Family, and Adult Services - DHS
Ms. Haskell has more than 21 years’ experience in management in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from Regis University and is a Licensed Addictions Counselor. For seven years prior to her management experience she provided direct mental health/substance abuse treatment services. She has helped developed and managed effective treatment and prevention programs, and supervised the staff responsible for providing these services for over eight years. She has ten years working in prevention with youth and families.
Ms. Haskell has extensive training and experience with family focused parenting programs including Nurturing Parenting Program. She not only providing direct services to families but also provided clinical oversight. Her main focus has been high risk families and adolescents. She has been working as the supervisor of Child Welfare, Adult Protection Services and Family and Youth Initiatives, the prevention department for Chaffee County, for the last seven and half years.
One of Monica's passions is educating the community about the effects of substance use on our youth today so they have a better future. For this program she is responsible for oversight of all programming and budgets for FYI. She makes sure we are meeting the needs of our clients and funders. She is the big picture person to make sure we are doing what is right for our clients. She focused on improving our practice and impact on our community in a positive way. She also provides clinical oversight for all staff when needed. She has helped developed and managed effective treatment and prevention programs for the last 16 years with this program and others. . Monica is a member of many boards and coalitions in the County including but not limited to Chaffee County Health Coalition, the Substance Abuse Regional Coalition, Early Childhood Council and the Communities That Care coalition. Monica joined FYI and the county 9.5 years ago.
