Donna Golden is the Family Program Coordinator for the Colorado Community Response Program (CCR) and is part of the Family & Youth Initiatives Team. CCR is unique in the way that it extends services by invitation only through a referral from Child Protective Services. This program is voluntary and offers grand opportunities for individualized support as families work to achieve goals and learn financial skills.

 

The greatest thing Donna enjoys about her job is hearing families’ stories. She understands each one has unique life experiences. No matter that Donna has much experience, she learns new things about families that provide ways in for her to help. For Donna, it’s very satisfying to work behind the scenes in a supportive role and encourage others to achieve their dreams, feel confident and successful.

 

Donna and her husband, Brad, moved to the Salida area in 2015. While scouting the area, the beauty of the Arkansas River Valley, surrounded by public lands, caught their attention. The big bonus was the tolerable winter temperatures and perfect summer days to accommodate their horseback and jeep-trailing lifestyle. Now as grandparents, their mountain home is a joy as it affords a wonderful place for their family to visit.
