Youth @ Crossroads 2011/ 2012 Calendar

Girls Circle/ Boys Council ~

Weekly class held at Salida Middle School for 7th grade teens. Goal is to build

resilience, communication and friendship skills.

Reconnecting Youth ~

Semester-long daily class at Salida High School first semester and Buena Vista High School second semester. Goal is to prevent dropout and substance abuse through building communication and resiliency skills in teens.

Project Toward No Drug Abuse ~

Weekly class through Chaffee County High School in Buena Vista or for teen who are court-ordered. Goal is to prevent/ reduce substance use in teens through building reasoning, communication and critical thinking skills.

Weekly Alternative Activities ~

Activities like snowboarding, horseback riding, art, trips to local hot springs etc. are open to Y@C participants and graduates. Call Kayla or Kelly for details.

2011 Family & Youth Initiatives Community Halloween Dance and Dessert Potluck.

Saturday October 22nd, 6:30 - 9 p.m. Salida Scout Hut. Live folk band and square dance calling. Wear a costume and bring a dessert and your dancing shoes!

June 9th & 10th 2012 Community Silent Auction Party & Golf Tournament

Join us for the Community Silent Auction Party Saturday June 9th, 7 - 9 p.m. at the Salida SteamPlant Theatre Ballroom. Bid on fabulous items ranging from fly-fishing trips to weekend getaways while dining on delectable cuisine! All proceeds benefit families and youth. Sunday June 10th, "Golf for Kids Sake" from 8 - 2 at the Salida Golf Course. Breakfast and lunch provided; call the course directly to sign up (719) 539-1060.
