Chaffee County Mentors Mission Statement

“To provide youth guidance, support and friendship through positive mentoring relationships"

Chaffee County Mentors provides three programs:

Chaffee County Mentors – Community-based Mentoring
One-on-one mentoring between adult volunteers and youth ages 7 - 15. Matches meet at weekly at least 3 hours a week over the course of a year.

Matches have the opportunity to engage in monthly group activities and receive ongoing training and support. Call Tara or Natalie at (719) 395-0344 ext. 204 or (719) 530 - 2581/ (719) 530- 2582 for details.

Youth in Action
Cross-age peer mentoring program between middle school youth and pre-school or Head Start children in Buena Vista and Salida.

Middle school mentors receive two full days of training at the beginning of the program and ongoing training throughout the year.

They are matched with a pre-school buddy and meet as a group once a week throughout the duration of the school year. Call Natalie (719) 530 - 2582 or (719) 395-0344 ext. 204 for details!

Mentors Plus
Youth identified with multiple needs are matched with a paid "mentor". The two meet three hours a week and work on identified goals.

Matches have the opportunity to engage in monthly group activities and semi-monthly mandatory group supervision. For details, call Juli at (719) 530 - 2580.
